Learn the centuries old craft of Faux Bois. In this class you'll create striking replications of Straight Grain and Crotch Mahogany, Heartwood and Quarter Sewn (Tiger Eye) Oak, Pine and Bird's Eye Maple. I'll pass along the skills I learned in Scotland from Master artist Cait Whitson along with the skills I've honed graining doors of some of the most beautiful homes in the south. This class is immediately followed with faux marbling, learn both in one week.

Marbling was done extensively n the Southern United States when our country was building itself. It was more cost effective to bring over European artists to faux marble fireplaces and base mouldings than it was to ship over the actual marble. Restoration in Victorian and antebellum homes has kept me quite busy utilizing the faux marbling skills I learned in Europe. Now you can possess these skills as well. This is a skill you can now offer to your clients and round out your portfolio.
